It can be scary for anyone in the hospital, but even more so for a child. Levine Children's Hospital Child Life program works alongside doctors, nurses and families to help children cope while being in the hospital – and adding in a little bit of fun, whenever possible.
The Children's Advice Line is a free, 24/7 telephone help line for parents. Our experienced registered nurses can help with anything from feeding problems to treating a child's high fever, coughing or minor illness. Our translation services allow our nurses to communicate with you in Spanish, Vietnamese and many other languages. This free service is a gift to the community from the Children's Miracle Network.

We have a hospital-based early intervention program developed to improve healthcare and support services for families who experience a lengthy hospital stay. Family and Developmental Specialists provide developmental, informational, emotional, financial and community support to promote developmental outcomes and enhance family functioning. Services are intended to meet the special and individual needs of each family and provide a smooth transition into community services.
A family kitchen area, with a refrigerator, microwave and ice machine, is located on all of our pediatric floors and in our pediatric intensive care unit waiting area at Levine Children's Hospital. We can also arrange for access to a washer and dryer and meal tickets for parents. A special menu for children is also available.

The pet therapy program allows therapy dogs to enter the hospital to visit with patients and their families. All dogs are registered with Pet Partners or Alliance of Therapy Dogs and are always accompanied by their handler, who supervises all patient interactions to ensure safety.
